KARIM BOULBAHRI
The course of Karim is atypical, since its adolescence it lives a double life of musician and electronics engineer. Drummer, he is also interested in the bass and in the guitar while learning at the same time about the electronics in self-taught. Passionate about music and about all which is innovative regarding sound, when he is 17 years old he builds his first effect pedal in a metalic cake box which contains affectedly a disto and a vibrato.
He enters the Studio Parisien en 1985 as repair tech to give a new life to the amplis of the groups Téléphone, Les Bandits, Les Porte-Mentaux , Dave Stewart , Olive…
Become quickly the friend of Richard Kolinka, it is quite naturally that he joins Jean Louis Aubert's team on tour as backliner. During 10 years, thanks to his perfect knowledge of all the equipments of the artist, he will insure the technical support and the maintenance of Vox amps and effects pedals of Jean Louis and those of Daniel Roux who left us far too early.
From 1998 till 2002, he becomes the bass player of Jean-Louis Aubert and opens for the Rolling Stones at the Stade de France.
In 2003, he joins the mythical Studio Ferber as technician and works on Neve consoles.
In 2004, he begins to cut channelstrips to put them in rack.
In 2009 while he is repairing a vintage effect pedal, he has the click: why not to create my own pedals ? The first Labo ★ K is born !
